Australia Visa Fees Hike Across the Board! Employer-Sponsored Visas Surge by 25%

 

Australia will implement a new round of substantial visa fee hikes starting 1 July 2026. Most visa categories will see a uniform 25% increase, breaking the long-standing convention of annual inflation-linked adjustments of merely 3%.
A 25% fee rise applies to Student Visas, General Skilled Migration visas, 482 Employer Sponsored Visas, Partner Family Stream Visas and Visitor (Tourism/Business) Visas. The 485 Temporary Graduate Visa will undergo two rounds of price adjustments within a single calendar year: fees first doubled in March, followed by an additional 25% increase effective July. Permanent Resident Return Visas record the steepest uplift, with charges surging more than twofold.
Fees are determined strictly by the date the application is lodged. All new applications submitted on or after 1 July will be subject to the revised pricing, and visa charges are non-refundable once paid. For 482 and 186 Employer Sponsored Visas, only individual visa application fees have increased; charges for business sponsorship approval, nomination applications and the SAF Skilling Australians Fund levy remain unchanged.
Figures listed in the table represent only the official Visa Application Charges (VAC). They exclude supplementary third-party costs including medical examination fees, notarisation expenses, skills assessment charges, migration agency service fees and credit card payment surcharges.
For Employer Sponsored streams (482 / 186), the SBS Business Sponsorship Fee, nomination fees and SAF Skilling Australians Fund levies payable by sponsoring businesses are not adjusted under this round of reforms and stay at existing rates.
Once visa application fees are remitted to authorities, no refunds will be issued regardless of the final outcome – including visa refusals, voluntary application withdrawals or requests to provide further supporting documentation.
